Why does almost all Thai sea freight leave from Laem Chabang?

It is the only Thai port with the draft and crane capacity for large mainline vessels, so direct deep-sea services concentrate here. Bangkok Port upstream is river-limited to smaller ships, which is why our FCL bookings default to Laem Chabang unless the cargo suits an intra-Asia barge service.

How early must cargo arrive before sailing?

For FCL, the container must gate in typically 48 to 72 hours before the vessel's cut-off, with the export declaration filed before gate-in. LCL closes earlier: our consolidations close twice weekly and cargo must reach the CFS 4 to 5 days before the sailing it targets.

What happens at the port on export?

The laden container passes the customs gate where the e-Customs declaration is matched, is Green Line released or Red Line inspected, then stacks in the terminal yard until loading. Red Line selection can add inspection time before the container is released to sail.

Operator execution rules

These rules apply to every sea freight quote and booking. Indicative rates are not a guarantee without a scoped quote.

  1. 14-day rate locks max

Do not guarantee these rates past 14 days. Carrier war surcharges are floating weekly.

  2. UAE high-risk clause

TH to AE requires an explicit floating insurance addendum in client contracts to cover sudden port blockages or diverted discharges at Jebel Ali.

  3. Working capital squeeze

Ocean lines are demanding shorter payment terms on Middle East and European lanes. We need to collect 100% freight prepayment from clients before container loading.

Contract wording is in our Standard Trading Conditions.
